Vessel at First Baptist Matthews exists to reach the world for Jesus Christ by making disciples who reach UP to God, IN to the church, and OUT to the world by preparing students to be a Vessel for Christ uniquely crafted for every situation in which the Lord places them.

Vessel Nights

Vessel nights take place on Wednesday from 5:30-7pm. Vessel nights are modeled to help students ask questions in a manner that helps them apply what they have learned through worship and to teach God’s Word OUT into the world, their schools, and their families. On Wednesday nights we open the student building at 5:30 for students to hangout, eat food, form new relationships, and play games. The night will kick off with worship and teaching of God’s Word, and then breakout into groups to discuss how students can apply what they heard to their life.

Small Groups

Small Groups are structured by grade and is a great opportunity for students to reach IN to the church through in-depth Bible Study. Get involved in a small group at 9am on Sunday mornings at the Student Worship Center. Students will be dismissed around 9:15 into their respective class that are structured to their age and are led by teachers who love and challenge teenagers, helping students build a strong biblical based foundation.

Check in & check out each day will take place in the student building. Camps will take place here in the FBCM gym and at Matthews Elementary school fields. Students should wear gym shorts, t-shirt & tennis shoes each day. Students should bring a Bible & water bottle each day.
